Allies Gone Wild!

Robert Kopecky, a friend who draws and designs for Cartoon Network, recently did the graphics and background for Amanda Saah Baehr's flash film, Dad I'm Not Gay. Robert also does the voice of the dad.

The dad in the short tries so hard to be accepting of his "gay daughter". Only one problem. Although she is wonderfully alternative, she happens to be heterosexual. But I guess it could be much worse. Much worse.

*LoL* I think I´ll send that link to my Mom. Not that I´m straight but still. My mom and grandmother are still on the "we don´t have a problem with the fact that you´re gay, we just don´t want to talk about it"-level.

My wonderful aunt and uncle however .. and their lovely sense of timeing. Last christmas we all sat down to eat and my aunt goes "So, Anna, I´ve heard that Christmas Day is a big party-night, I take it you´re going out later. The club you go to, are there your type of girls too or just those marvelous dragqueens you hang out with". My mom and grandmother both stared at me with "don´t you dare answer that"-looks but I gladly answered Aunt Rinas question :)

Anna, I feel your pain, my family has been locked into that same level for the better part of a decade, lol

Ah yes thanks, but I still prefer that over my mothers first reaction, the "you-are-sick-and-evil-and-not-my-daughter" and the wonderful question "all gay people are gay because of an horrible childhood, did you have one?" (Of course I said YES =)
